Ukraine Launches Electronic Notification System for Cosmetics

Ukraine has introduced a new electronic notification system for cosmetic products, aligning with European standards to create a ‘digital passport’ for each item on the market. This initiative was announced by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, manufacturers and importers are now required to input detailed information about every cosmetic product entering the Ukrainian market into this system.

The ‘digital passport’ will include data on the product’s composition and the responsible party for its release, enhancing transparency in the cosmetics sector and enabling traceability.

The Ministry emphasized that this system aims to improve consumer safety and data accessibility. In particular, it could facilitate quicker access to product composition information for medical professionals in cases of allergic reactions, through authorized state toxicological control agencies.

Additionally, the system is designed to harmonize with EU Regulation No. 1223/2009, which simplifies the entry of Ukrainian brands into the European market, making local products more competitive and comprehensible for EU countries.

Ukraine's new electronic notification system for cosmetics enhances product transparency and consumer safety while aligning with EU regulations. This initiative aims to facilitate market access for Ukrainian brands in Europe.
