As of the morning of June 1, Russian missile strikes have led to power outages affecting consumers in several regions of Ukraine, including Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv. The Ministry of Energy and Ukrenergo have confirmed these disruptions.
Officials have stated that energy workers are operating at heightened capacity to restore electricity as quickly as possible. Recovery efforts are ongoing around the clock.
Electricity Consumption Trends
According to Ukrenergo, electricity consumption in Ukraine is currently in line with seasonal averages. On June 1, as of 9:30 AM, consumption levels were similar to those recorded on the previous working day, Friday, May 29.
On May 31, the daily peak consumption was noted in the evening, registering a 2.7% decrease compared to the peak on the previous Sunday, May 24. This decline is attributed to moderate temperatures, which reduced the need for air conditioning.
Ukrenergo has urged residents to avoid using multiple high-power appliances simultaneously during peak evening hours, specifically from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
The situation within the energy system remains fluid, and officials recommend that consumers monitor updates on the websites and official social media pages of their respective regional energy companies.
Recent Russian strikes have caused significant power outages across several Ukrainian regions. Energy authorities are working diligently to restore service while advising consumers on electricity usage during peak hours.
