Intense Combat Continues on Multiple Fronts in Ukraine

Since the start of the day, Ukrainian forces have reported 232 combat encounters across various fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The most significant activity occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where Russian forces launched 34 attacks, attempting to advance near the settlements of Nikanorivka, Kotlyne, Horikhove, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Hryshyne, and Udashne, as well as towards Shevchenko, Bilytske, and Serhiivka in Novopavlivka. Currently, four clashes are ongoing in this area.

Heavy fighting is also reported in the Huliaipilske direction, with 27 Russian assaults near Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Huliaipole, Solodke, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, and towards Novyi Zaporizhzhia, Tsvitkove, and Charivne. One battle is still in progress.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 20 Russian assaults near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Pleshchiyivka, and Rusynyi Yar, as well as towards Mykolaypillya, Vilyke, and Kucheryv Yar.

Combat operations are ongoing in several other areas, including the Northern Slobozhansky, Kursk, Southern Slobozhansky, Kupiansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Oleksandrivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions. However, no offensive actions were reported from the enemy in the Sloviansk direction.

On May 21, the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) indicated that Ukrainian forces are regaining tactical initiative across various sectors of the front line.

Prior to this, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated in a press briefing that Ukraine has significantly slowed the advance of Russian forces and is gradually regaining initiative on the front, attributed to the efforts of Ukrainian troops and other factors, including the disabling of Starlink for the aggressor and an increase in medium-range drone strikes.

In a video address on May 25, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky affirmed that Ukraine currently holds stronger positions on the front lines.

Ukrainian forces are engaged in intense combat across multiple fronts, with significant Russian assaults reported. Recent assessments indicate a shift in tactical initiative favoring Ukraine, bolstered by strategic military actions.
