Ukrainian filmmaker Myroslav Chernov has been appointed as the head of the jury for the Golden Eye award at the Cannes Film Festival. This announcement was made on the award’s official website.
The jury will also include notable figures from the film industry, such as:
- Tabitha Jackson — Director of the New York Film Forum;
- Géraldine Pailhas — French actress;
- Lina Soualem — Franco-Algerian-Palestinian director and actress;
- Victor Castane — French journalist.
The Golden Eye award, established in 2015, is given to a documentary film featured in the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival. Eligible categories include the competition program, the Un Certain Regard section, out-of-competition screenings, midnight screenings, special screenings, and Cannes Classics. Documentaries from the Directors’ Fortnight and Critics’ Week are also eligible for consideration.
The award ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 22, at 12:00 PM at the Palais des Festivals.
In 2022, Ukrainian director Iryna Tsilyk served on the jury for the Golden Eye award.
