Intense Shelling in Sumy Region Leaves Nine Injured

On May 25, the Sumy region experienced a significant escalation in hostilities, with Russian forces launching nearly 70 attacks across 34 localities in 19 communities. The barrage resulted in injuries to nine individuals and damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and essential infrastructure.

According to reports from the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the assaults included strikes from drones and artillery, affecting various areas including the Seredyno-Buda community, where two men, aged 29 and 42, were injured. In the Velykopysarivka community, a 74-year-old woman was wounded by drone fire, while a 31-year-old man sustained injuries in the Sumy community.

Additionally, in the Romny community, three women aged 56, 59, and 84 were harmed following a drone attack. The Khutir-Mikhailivka community also reported injuries to two women, aged 51 and 63, from drone strikes.

The shelling extended to the Sumy and Shostka districts, where Russian forces utilized mortars, artillery, drones, and guided bombs. The attacks resulted in significant destruction, damaging both private and multi-apartment buildings, administrative structures, cultural centers, and various civilian properties.

The recent surge in attacks in the Sumy region has led to multiple injuries and widespread damage to civilian infrastructure. As hostilities continue, the impact on local communities remains severe.
