On the night of May 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that four individuals lost their lives due to Russian missile attacks. Approximately one hundred others sustained injuries as a result of the strikes.
In a message shared via Telegram, Zelensky highlighted the ongoing efforts of emergency services, police, and municipal workers who are responding to the aftermath of the attacks. He noted that around 30 residential buildings in Kyiv were either damaged or destroyed during the assault.
“Everyone is acting as effectively as possible, considering the scale of the attack and its consequences: about 100 people have been injured across the country, and unfortunately, four have died. My condolences to the families and loved ones,” the President stated.
Zelensky emphasized that beyond expressions of support and sympathy from Ukraine’s partners, concrete actions are necessary. He specifically called for the enhancement of Ukraine’s air defense systems, asserting that the supply of missiles should continue without interruption.
According to the Air Force of Ukraine, on the night of May 24, Russian forces launched a total of 90 missiles and 600 drones of various types against Ukraine. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted 55 missiles and 549 drones. The primary target of the attack was Kyiv, where significant destruction was reported across several districts, resulting in fatalities and numerous injuries.
The recent Russian missile attacks on Ukraine have led to four fatalities and around one hundred injuries, with significant damage reported in Kyiv. President Zelensky has called for enhanced air defense measures in response to the ongoing threat.
