Ukrainian military operators, in collaboration with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), executed a coordinated strike on a facility linked to the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences. This site was reportedly involved in training drone pilots and manufacturing munitions.
The strike resulted in the destruction of production and repair facilities at the location. Among the losses were four ‘Tiger’ armored vehicles that were on-site for repairs, all of which were destroyed. Additionally, munitions and components for drone production were eliminated.
During the operation, the commander of the training school, a lieutenant colonel known by the callsign ‘Buriy,’ was killed. Overall, the operation resulted in significant personnel losses, with at least 65 individuals reported dead.
The strike was coordinated by the Deep Strike Center of the Special Operations Forces (SBS). According to their reports, targeting such facilities directly undermines the enemy’s capacity to train drone crews, repair armored vehicles, and support frontline units.
Robert ‘Madyar’ Brovdiy, commander of the SBS, provided insights into the operation, which was named ‘Snow to Akhmat’ after the town of Snizhne in temporarily occupied Donetsk, where the facility was located.
The target was the training and production complex of the 78th Motorized Special Purpose Regiment ‘Sever-Akhmat,’ which operates within the 42nd Division. On the night of May 20, the 1st Separate Center of the SBS conducted 11 planned strikes using middle-strike capabilities with warheads weighing 100 kg.
The main two-story complex, covering an area of 2,484 square meters, housed assembly lines for drones and munitions, as well as accommodations for personnel. An explosion of munitions in the basement further intensified the damage.
‘There are three such training centers of the Russian Academy of Missile and Artillery Sciences deployed in the temporarily occupied territories. Two remain,’ Madyar noted.
