Trump to Discuss Military Options Against Iran Amid Diplomatic Failures

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to convene his national security team this week to explore military actions against Iran, as diplomatic efforts falter.

According to American officials, Trump aims to secure an agreement to end the ongoing conflict. However, Iran’s refusal to meet many of his demands, particularly concerning its nuclear program, has led to renewed discussions of military intervention.

Sources indicate that Trump will gather his key national security advisors at the Situation Room on Tuesday to deliberate on potential military strategies. This follows a meeting over the weekend at his golf club in Virginia, where he discussed the situation in Iran with senior security personnel.

Attendees at the Virginia meeting included Vice President Jay D. Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

Additionally, Trump spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, with discussions also centered around Iran.

In a recent interview with Axios, Trump remarked that time is running out for Iran, warning that if Tehran does not present a more favorable deal, the regime will face significant consequences. Currently, he is awaiting a revised proposal from Iran.

Reports from CNN suggest a divide within the Trump administration regarding the approach to Iran, with some advocating for a more aggressive stance while others prefer to maintain a focus on diplomacy.

Furthermore, The New York Times has reported that Trump’s advisors have prepared plans for military strikes should diplomatic efforts fail, with potential actions possibly commencing this week.

President Trump is preparing to discuss military options against Iran as diplomatic negotiations stall. Key national security meetings are scheduled, reflecting a split in the administration's approach to the Iranian situation.
