Dnipropetrovsk Region Faces Combined Attack from Russia

In the early hours of May 18, Russia launched a combined assault on the city of Dnipro, targeting residential areas and resulting in multiple casualties and fires.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the attack began around 8:00 PM on May 17, with drones initially being deployed towards Dnipro. This was followed by waves of unmanned aerial vehicles throughout the night.

At 2:32 AM, military sources indicated a potential ballistic threat, confirming the launch of missiles towards Dnipro, including cruise missiles. By 3:50 AM, explosions continued to be heard in the city as attacks persisted.

Following the drone strikes, Oleksandr Hanzha, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, reported that a high-rise building and a warehouse containing pyrotechnics were ablaze. Fortunately, there were no immediate reports of injuries at that time.

However, as the situation developed, Hanzha later confirmed that residential areas had been hit, leading to several fires and reports of individuals trapped in one of the buildings.

By 3:41 AM, Hanzha updated that three individuals had sustained injuries, including one man who was hospitalized in moderate condition, while a 50-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man were receiving outpatient treatment.

Subsequent reports indicated that the number of injured had risen to nine, including a 10-year-old boy.

A combined Russian attack on Dnipro resulted in multiple injuries and significant damage to residential areas. The assault involved drones and missiles, prompting emergency responses and ongoing investigations.
