The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), in coordination with defense forces, has conducted operations targeting military-industrial facilities and oil infrastructure in the Moscow region, as well as a military airfield in Crimea.
In the Moscow region, the following sites were hit:
- The “Angstrom” factory, which supplies semiconductors to Russia’s military-industrial complex and is under U.S. sanctions;
- The Moscow Oil Refinery;
- The “Sonechnohorska” oil pumping station;
- The “Volodarskoye” oil pumping station.
In occupied Crimea, the military airfield “Belybek” saw damage to its infrastructure and air defense systems, including:
- The “Pantsir-S2” air defense system;
- A hangar containing a radar for the S-400 system;
- The “Orion” drone control system and the “Forpost” ground control station;
- A data transfer point for ground-to-air communications;
- The control tower and hangar at the “Belybek” airfield.
According to SBU Chief Yevheniy Khmara, such operations are crucial for diminishing Russia’s military capabilities. Attacks on military production facilities, military infrastructure, and oil logistics reduce the enemy’s ability to sustain its war efforts against Ukraine. These strikes illustrate that even the heavily fortified Moscow region is not immune to such actions.
Recent operations by the Ukrainian Security Service have targeted key military and oil infrastructure in Russia, aiming to weaken its military capabilities. The strikes reflect Ukraine's ongoing strategy to disrupt Russian operations, even in secure areas.
