Ukraine Warns of Potential Large-Scale Russian Attack

Ukrainian officials have indicated that Russia may be preparing for a significant military strike in the coming days. This warning was issued by Yuriy Ihnat, the spokesperson for the Air Force of Ukraine, during a televised briefing.

Ihnat cited multiple factors contributing to this assessment, including intelligence reports from Ukraine, information from international partners, and increased activity observed at Russian military airfields.

“There is a noticeable redeployment of tactical aviation and heightened activity at airbases. Typically, prior to launching attacks, the enemy prepares and equips aircraft, and we have observed such activity in recent days,” Ihnat stated.

The Air Force has emphasized that similar indicators have previously preceded combined attacks involving missiles and combat drones.

Recent Attacks on Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky has previously reported ongoing Russian shelling in Kherson, describing the situation as a form of hunting for civilians. He stressed the need for enhanced defense measures in the region.

On the morning of May 12, Russian forces targeted railway infrastructure in the Dnipropetrovsk region, resulting in injuries to a train driver due to shrapnel, according to Oleksiy Kuleba, the Minister for Communities and Territories Development. The drone strikes caused damage to locomotives and rolling stock.
