On May 3, a total of 148 combat encounters occurred on the front lines in eastern Ukraine, with Russian forces particularly active in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole sectors. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian military casualties reached 1,120 personnel during these engagements.
According to the morning update from the Ukrainian military on May 4, the Russian army launched one missile strike using two missiles and conducted 86 airstrikes, dropping 312 guided bombs. Additionally, they deployed 10,394 kamikaze drones and executed 3,384 shelling operations against both populated areas and Ukrainian positions, including 37 instances using multiple launch rocket systems.
The report highlighted that airstrikes targeted various locations, including Vylna Sloboda in Sumy Oblast and several sites in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts, such as Prosyana, Vozdvizhivka, and Orikhiv.
Ukrainian forces also achieved significant success, striking nine areas where Russian personnel were concentrated and destroying two artillery pieces. Overall, on May 3, Russian military losses included six tanks, four armored vehicles, 113 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, 11 ground robotic systems, 2,249 drones, five missiles, and various vehicles and specialized equipment.
Current Frontline Situation
In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, one clash was reported, with Russian forces conducting 73 shelling operations against Ukrainian positions, including three using multiple launch rocket systems, as well as three airstrikes with seven guided bombs.
In the South Slobozhansk area, Russian troops attempted to storm Ukrainian positions near Starytsia, Lyman, and Mytrofanivka on three occasions.
In the Kupiansk direction, Russian forces attacked twice towards Kurylivka and Kivsharivka.
Ukrainian defenders repelled five attempts by Russian troops to advance in the Lyman direction, specifically towards Lyman, Novyi Mir, Drobysheve, and Ozerne.
In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian forces halted three attempts by Russian troops to advance towards Rai-Oleksandrivka, Kalenyky, and Riznykivka.
In the Kramatorsk area, an attack was recorded near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian forces launched 23 attacks in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultine, and several other locations.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled 26 assault attempts towards various settlements.
Russian forces made six attacks in the Oleksandrivka direction, targeting areas such as Vorone, Oleksandrhrad, and others.
In the Huliaipole direction, 23 attacks were recorded, impacting multiple settlements.
Ukrainian defenses successfully thwarted one attempt by Russian forces to advance in the Orikhiv direction.
In the Dnipro direction, Ukrainian units stopped two attacks from Russian forces near Antonivka.
No signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected in the Volyn and Polissia regions.
