Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported unusual activity along the border with Belarus, stating that the situation is being closely monitored by Ukrainian authorities. He emphasized the nation’s readiness to respond if necessary.
Zelensky remarked, “Recently, there has been quite specific activity on the sections of the border between Ukraine and Belarus from the Belarusian side. We are carefully documenting everything, maintaining control, and if needed, we will react.” He underscored Ukraine’s commitment to defending its citizens and sovereignty, urging those involved in aggressive actions against Ukraine to recognize this stance.
In response to the situation, Andriy Kovalенко, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, suggested that any actions from Belarus may be limited to minor provocations. He stated, “Regarding Belarus, all their actions at the border are being recorded. Currently, the most they can do are small provocations that could ultimately be more costly for the Belarusian side. Nothing more than that,” he conveyed via Telegram.
