On May 1, Russian forces launched drone strikes across five districts in Kharkiv, resulting in damage to infrastructure and injuries among civilians.
The initial assault occurred in the Kholodnohirskiy district, followed by attacks in the Kyivskyi district, where multiple drones targeted a gas station. This attack caused damage to several vehicles and the gas station building, although no immediate reports of injuries were available.
Another strike was recorded in the Saltivskyi district, injuring a 36-year-old man who sustained shrapnel wounds. Medical personnel have hospitalized the victim and are providing necessary treatment.
The Nemyshlianskyi district also faced drone attacks, with further strikes reported in the Slobidskyi district, where a gas station was hit, resulting in injuries to a 55-year-old man. He exhibited acute stress reactions, and medical assistance was administered on-site.
According to the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office, Russian military forces targeted three gas stations in Kharkiv, with investigations ongoing regarding a fourth station. Additionally, another gas station in the Kharkiv region was also struck.
It is believed that the drones used in these attacks may be equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities, specifically the V2U model.
In a broader context, on the night of May 1, Russia launched 210 strike drones against Ukraine, with air defense forces managing to intercept a significant number. However, 20 drones successfully hit 14 locations, and debris from downed drones fell across 10 sites.
Among the areas targeted was Odesa, where Russian forces again struck high-rise buildings, leading to fires. On April 30, drone attacks on Mykolaiv damaged residential areas and resulted in a fire. Additionally, a drone strike near Dnipro caused a fire, resulting in casualties and injuries.
Recent drone strikes in Kharkiv have resulted in infrastructure damage and civilian injuries, reflecting ongoing hostilities in the region. The attacks are part of a broader pattern of drone usage by Russian forces, with significant impacts reported across various Ukrainian cities.
