The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, in collaboration with Brave1, has conducted tests on a new generation of domestic FPV (First Person View) drones. These unmanned aerial vehicles successfully engaged targets up to 25 kilometers away, even while facing enemy electronic countermeasures.
The testing involved innovations from eight Ukrainian companies, with reports indicating that several drones accomplished all assigned tasks under conditions closely resembling actual combat scenarios.
“Our goal is to rapidly scale these technologies within the military and ensure expedited delivery so that units receive effective tools immediately after confirming results,” stated Fedorov.
To facilitate this, the Ministry has established a systematic approach:
- The codification process has been streamlined to shorten the transition from development to deployment.
- The funding strategy has been revised, allocating 80% of resources to proven battlefield solutions and 20% to new technologies.
- Regular field tests are conducted in partnership with Brave1.
A specific testing methodology is being developed for each class of drones, involving all manufacturers whose solutions have not yet been contracted by the state.
Fedorov emphasized that if a drone demonstrates its effectiveness in combat, the scaling process will commence immediately.
