In the early hours of April 27, Russia executed a significant aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying strike drones from five different directions. The attack, which began around 6 PM on April 26, resulted in multiple hits across various sites.
According to reports, the offensive involved 94 strike drones, including Shahed models, as well as Gerbera, Italmas, and other types. The drones were launched from regions including Kursk, Orel, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, and Gvardeyskoye in the temporarily occupied Crimea, with approximately 60 of them being Shahed drones.
Ukrainian defense forces responded to the aerial threat with a combination of aviation support, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, drone systems, and mobile fire groups. As of 9 AM, preliminary data indicated that Ukrainian air defenses had intercepted or suppressed 74 enemy drones across the northern, southern, and eastern parts of the country.
The report confirmed that there were 20 successful hits from the strike drones on 15 locations, with debris from downed drones reported at 11 sites.
