U.S. Envoy and Trump’s Son-in-Law Set to Visit Ukraine, Says Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Vitkoff and Jared Kushner, son-in-law of former President Donald Trump, are planning a visit to Ukraine.

This information was shared during a press conference in Oslo on April 14, alongside Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

“We have not received any information on when they will arrive. They told me at the beginning of April—on the 1st or 2nd—that they would come. My team had a positive conversation with them, and they confirmed their visit,” Zelensky stated.

Zelensky emphasized the significance of their trip, noting that both Vitkoff and Kushner have visited Moscow multiple times, which sends an important message to the public. He added, “We are waiting for them any day they are ready to come.”

“However, I think they are still focused on Rafah, in the Middle East. Regardless, it is essential for us to continue dialogue with Americans, Europeans, and trilaterally with the Russians,” he added.

Earlier that day, Zelensky was in Berlin, where he met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. During this meeting, it was announced that Germany would provide Ukraine with new military aid packages, including air defense systems, long-range weapons, drones, and ammunition.

Zelensky has since arrived in Oslo, where he is set to hold discussions with Crown Prince Haakon and Norwegian lawmakers. A bilateral document aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s security is also scheduled to be signed.
