Ukrainian Forces Target Key Metallurgical Plant in Alchevsk

Ukrainian security forces, in collaboration with drone units from the Armed Forces, have conducted a second drone strike this month on the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, located in the occupied Luhansk region. This attack has resulted in the suspension of operations at the facility.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported that the strike aimed at one of the critical industrial sites utilized by occupying forces to support their military production. The Alchevsk plant is known for supplying materials to the Russian Uralvagonzavod, which manufactures military equipment, including T-90M tanks and Msta-S howitzers.

Following the identification of key production facilities at the plant, drone strikes were executed using FP-2 drones from Fire Point. The assault caused significant damage to the blast furnaces, essential production workshops, distillation columns, gas pipelines, and electrical substations that are vital for the plant’s operations. Consequently, the plant has ceased all activities.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense indicated that the recent offensive operations had resulted in substantial damage to strategic Russian enterprises, affecting five factories and ten oil refining facilities. Notably, the previous strike on the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant led to a large fire at the site.

Ukrainian forces have successfully targeted the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant, disrupting operations and damaging key infrastructure. This action is part of a broader strategy to undermine Russian military production capabilities.
