Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has emphasized the significance of the country’s drones and counter-drone systems as strategic resources that enhance Ukraine’s geopolitical influence. He stated that these capabilities have elevated Ukraine’s role not only in Europe but also in the Middle East.
During a press briefing following the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Summit in France on March 26-27, Sybiha remarked, “The main conclusion is that Ukraine is indeed at the center of the international agenda, despite developments in other regions. I felt this as a minister, and it is the position of all EU countries and the French presidency.”
Sybiha attributed this heightened status to Ukraine’s proactive engagement in the Middle East. He noted that Kyiv has offered Gulf partners not just verbal support but concrete security solutions.
He stated, “This is valued and effective. It is not only about the war but also about our role in shaping security and the agenda from Europe to the Middle East. There is a clear understanding of Ukraine’s significance and its role. Our subjectivity is becoming more pronounced and filled with concrete content.”
According to Sybiha, Ukraine possesses unique military capabilities that serve as a geopolitical tool. He described the country’s drones and countermeasures as akin to Ukraine’s own “oil,” a strategic resource that should be leveraged for clear national interests to strengthen the military, bolster the economy, and ultimately pave the way for lasting peace.
