In a significant overnight operation on March 27, Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted 93 Russian drones, predominantly of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the attacks resulted in nine strikes across eight different locations.

The assault, which took place from 6 PM on March 26 to the early hours of March 27, involved a barrage of drones launched from various points including Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Gvardeyskoye in Crimea. Out of the 102 drones deployed, approximately 60 were identified as Shahed models.

Throughout the night, Ukrainian aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare divisions, and mobile fire groups worked in concert to thwart the majority of the incoming threats. By 8:30 AM, the forces had either shot down or suppressed 93 of the Russian drones.

In addition to the interceptions, there were confirmed impacts from nine strike drones at eight locations, with debris from the downed drones landing in four areas.

Ukrainian air defense forces demonstrated effective capabilities by intercepting 93 Russian drones during a coordinated overnight attack. The operation reflects ongoing tensions in the region as Ukraine continues to bolster its defenses against aerial threats.
