Ukraine Marks 1487 Days of Resistance Amid Ongoing Conflict

On March 21, Ukraine reached the 1487th day of its resistance against Russia’s full-scale invasion. The Ministry of Defense continues to provide updates on the situation, highlighting key developments in the ongoing conflict.

Recent Highlights:

  • President Zelensky awarded the crew of the 59th Brigade of the Drone Forces with the Order of Courage, Second Class, after they successfully destroyed a Russian Ka-52 helicopter using an FPV drone in the Pokrovsk direction.
  • A meeting between a Ukrainian delegation and U.S. officials is scheduled to take place in Miami. The Ukrainian side will be represented by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov, and the head of the Servant of the People faction David Arahamiya. U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine, Ambassador Kurt Volker, will also be present. Notably, Russia will not participate in the planned peace talks on March 21.

In the Kharkiv region, shelling has resulted in casualties and damage to private residential buildings in the Upper Settlement area of Izium. Local military administration reported power outages following the strikes.

As Ukraine marks 1487 days of conflict, recent developments include military awards for drone operations and a scheduled diplomatic meeting with U.S. officials. The situation remains tense, particularly in the Kharkiv region, where recent shelling has caused casualties and infrastructure damage.
