Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has outlined several proposals aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict with Russia. He emphasized the importance of engaging with the United States to explore these options.
Zelensky stated, “I believe there are prospects for a peaceful settlement in the war between Russia and Ukraine. While there are various challenges, including frustrations and internal issues, it is crucial to understand that Ukraine desires peace, and President Trump shares this goal—therefore, we are allies in this matter, and there should be no doubt about it.”
According to Zelensky, Ukraine’s commitment to peace is significantly stronger than that of Russia. He accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of projecting an image that suggests he is the one seeking peace, while attempting to convey the opposite regarding Ukraine’s intentions. “These are the signals he is sending to America,” Zelensky added.
The President stressed the necessity of daily efforts to seek a peaceful agreement, stating, “We need to meet with the Americans. We have several ideas on how we can bring this war to an end.”
The last round of trilateral negotiations involving representatives from Ukraine, Russia, and the United States took place on February 17-18 in Geneva, but discussions regarding the war’s conclusion have reportedly stalled since then.
