Serbian President Warns of Potential Threats from Regional Neighbors

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has expressed concerns about a possible military threat from Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo. In an interview with RTS, he stated that Serbia is preparing for an anticipated attack from these nations, which he believes are collaborating militarily.

Vučić referenced a trilateral defense cooperation agreement signed by Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo in Tirana on March 18, 2025. This pact aims to enhance security collaboration and operational compatibility among their armed forces.

Regarding Serbia’s defense capabilities, Vučić highlighted the country’s possession of Chinese-made air-to-ground hypersonic missiles with a range of up to 400 kilometers, describing them as among the most advanced weapon systems available.

He also emphasized that Serbia maintains a good relationship with NATO while pursuing a policy of military neutrality. Vučić accused Croatia of attempting to undermine Serbia over the past year and a half, alleging interference in Serbia’s internal affairs.

These comments come amid ongoing discussions about security and defense policies in the Western Balkans, a region that has seen increased military modernization and rising political tensions in recent years.

In a previous statement made in October 2025, Vučić remarked that the current climate seems to be preparing for conflict, suggesting that the only question is which side each country will align with.

In a broader context, recent military actions have also been noted, including airstrikes by the United States and Israel on Iran, aimed at curbing Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Despite claims of success from U.S. President Donald Trump, reports indicate that operations are expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

Furthermore, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that the collaboration between Russia and Iran poses a significant threat, potentially leading to a larger global conflict.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has raised alarms over potential military threats from neighboring countries, citing a recent defense pact among them. His statements reflect a growing concern about regional security dynamics amid ongoing military modernization efforts.
