Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for more radar systems from the Netherlands to assist military forces on the front lines. This request was made during a joint press conference with Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in Kyiv.
Zelensky highlighted a specific need expressed by Ukrainian troops in Druzhkivka, stating, “We need these radars. They are crucial for the protection of our soldiers and represent a significant challenge for us.” He emphasized the Netherlands’ reputation for producing high-quality radar systems, which were discussed during their meeting.
The president also briefed Jetten on the current situation at the front, noting that Russian attacks continue unabated. He stressed the necessity of consistent daily support as the conflict persists.
“The Netherlands exemplifies effective support through its commitment of 3 billion euros annually,” Zelensky remarked. Additionally, he mentioned Dutch investment in the PURL program, which is vital for Ukraine’s defense, particularly for acquiring PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles for air defense.
President Zelensky has formally requested additional radar systems from the Netherlands to bolster Ukraine's military capabilities amid ongoing Russian aggression. He underscored the importance of consistent support from the Netherlands, which has committed significant annual funding for defense initiatives.
