The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to its citizens against traveling to Israel and Iran due to escalating security concerns in the Middle East and the threat of missile attacks.
This advisory comes in light of increased tensions in the region, with the Ministry urging Ukrainians to refrain from visiting Israel until the situation stabilizes. The Ministry also reiterated a previous recommendation from early January for citizens to leave Iran.
For those currently in the affected areas, the Ministry advises maintaining vigilance, closely monitoring official communications, and keeping identification documents readily available.
Specifically for individuals in Israel, the Ministry recommends:
- Following the directives of the Israel Home Front Command;
- Regularly checking official announcements from local authorities and the Ukrainian embassy;
- Avoiding large gatherings;
- Identifying the nearest shelters in advance.
Current Situation in the Middle East
On February 28, Israel conducted an attack on Tehran, the capital of Iran.
Former U.S. President Trump accused Iran of financially supporting and training militant groups in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine. He stated that the objective of U.S. military operations against Iran is to dismantle its missile industry and navy, ensuring that Iran cannot destabilize global security.
According to reports from Associated Press, the U.S. was involved in the Israeli operation against Iran, which the U.S. Department of Defense referred to as “Operation Epic Fury.”
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the attack as a necessary measure to eliminate threats, although he did not provide specific details.
In response to the assault, Iran has closed its airspace, and Israeli authorities have issued air raid alerts to prepare the public for potential missile strikes.
The Ukrainian government has advised its citizens to avoid travel to Israel and Iran due to heightened security risks and the threat of missile attacks. This follows recent military actions in the region, including an Israeli strike on Tehran.
