Scheduled Power Outages Across Ukraine Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

On February 24, power outages will be implemented across most regions of Ukraine for both residential and industrial consumers, according to a statement from Ukrenergo.

The utility company did not specify the timing or extent of these outages. The outages are attributed to the aftermath of extensive Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Ukrenergo advised citizens to monitor official regional energy company pages for updates, as the timing and scale of the outages may change.

Since January 14, a state of emergency has been in effect in Ukraine’s energy sector, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in response to Russian strikes and deteriorating weather conditions.

On February 18, Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal announced that Kyiv had proposed the establishment of an Energy Task Force to coordinate international assistance for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system following the attacks.

Ukraine is set to experience scheduled power outages due to damage from Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. The situation has prompted the government to seek international support for recovery efforts.
