Ukrainian Forces Halt Russian Advances in Southern Regions

Ukrainian defense forces have successfully countered Russian advances in the southern front, effectively reducing the so-called “grey zone” between the two sides. This development has been attributed to a series of counteroffensive and assault operations conducted by Ukrainian troops.

According to spokesperson Oleksandr Voloshyn, the Ukrainian forces have engaged in multiple counterattacks along various sections of the frontline. He stated, “We have blocked the enemy’s advance and are operating in active defense.” Voloshyn emphasized that these operations have prevented Russian forces from launching successful assaults in several directions.

Ukrainian intelligence reports indicate that several Russian units have suffered significant losses in their combat capabilities, hindering their ability to conduct offensive operations. Voloshyn noted that these units are currently unable to adequately prepare reinforcement groups to maintain their positions.

In addition to these developments, Voloshyn reported that approximately fifteen populated areas are currently under threat from Russian strikes utilizing guided aerial bombs (KAB). Locations such as the village of Verkhnya Tersa, the city of Orikhiv, and the settlement of Pokrovske have been particularly affected.

He mentioned, “Almost along the entire frontline, 3-4 KABs are landing daily. The Russians are not concentrating their strikes on a single point but are dispersing them across multiple locations.” This tactic has resulted in 3-5 KABs hitting various populated areas along the frontline.

Furthermore, Voloshyn highlighted an increase in Russian strikes using KABs on the city of Zaporizhzhia. He noted that these bombs are sophisticated, equipped with advanced flight and targeting systems, which makes them more effective than standard KABs that do not reach the city.

Ukrainian forces have effectively countered Russian advances in the south, reducing the grey zone and blocking enemy progress. Reports indicate that Russian units are struggling with combat capabilities, while guided aerial bomb strikes continue to affect multiple populated areas.
