Russia Plans Military Mobilization Expansion Amid Ongoing Conflict

Despite significant losses on the battlefield, Russia is reportedly preparing to expand its mobilization efforts and launch new offensive operations. This information was highlighted in a briefing by the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence, Oleksandr Ihnatov.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that even Russian officials acknowledge the difficulties in fulfilling the objectives set by their political leadership. He stated, “The Ukrainian defense forces are effectively diminishing the offensive capabilities of the Russian army, with irreversible losses for the occupiers nearing 60% of total casualties.”

Zelensky further emphasized that, despite these substantial losses, the Russian government plans to continue its offensives and is preparing to broaden mobilization within Russia.

He outlined Ukraine’s objectives, which include increasing the percentage of irreversible losses among Russian forces, enhancing the use of drones on the front lines, and expanding long-range sanctions against Russian arms production and the oil sector.

Additionally, reports indicate that this year, the Russian Ministry of Defense aims to recruit at least 18,500 foreign nationals, prioritizing citizens from Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan.

The Russian government is also employing deceptive tactics to recruit residents from Crimea into its military. Despite assurances that conscripts would remain on the peninsula, many are reportedly being sent directly to the front lines.

Russia is intensifying its military mobilization and planning further offensives despite heavy losses. Ukraine aims to counter these efforts by increasing the impact of its defense strategies.
