Kyiv is bracing for a significant shift in weather, with forecasts indicating rain and a drop in temperatures over the coming days. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has outlined the expected conditions for May 9-13.
According to meteorologists, intermittent rain, including thunderstorms, will affect the region, particularly on Sunday, May 10. The forecast predicts that the heaviest rainfall will occur in Kyiv and its surrounding areas on this date, while dry conditions are expected on May 11 and during the night of May 12.
As the rain arrives, temperatures in the capital will also cool down, transitioning from summer heat to a more spring-like chill. Overnight temperatures on May 11 are projected to range from +3° to +8°.
“In the capital, we anticipate brief showers, especially on May 10, along with cooler nights and moderately warm days,” the forecasters noted. The coldest day is expected to be May 10, when temperatures could drop to +14°.
However, warmer days will follow, with temperatures rising to a more comfortable +19° to +20° shortly thereafter.
On Saturday, May 9, the weather in Kyiv will feature variable cloudiness with brief showers in some areas, and thunderstorms may occur across the region. Winds will shift from the southwest to the northwest, blowing at speeds of 5-10 m/s. Daytime temperatures are expected to be between +21° and +23° in the capital, while the surrounding areas will see temperatures ranging from +20° to +25°.
Kyiv is set to experience a notable change in weather with rain and cooler temperatures expected from May 9 to 13. The heaviest rainfall is forecasted for May 10, with temperatures dropping to +14° before gradually warming again.
