Significant Temperature Drop Expected in Kyiv

Residents of Kyiv can anticipate a notable decrease in temperatures beginning Sunday, April 26, as cold air from the Baltic region moves into the area. The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued this forecast, indicating that temperatures could drop by 5 to 6 degrees Celsius.

According to meteorologists, the period from April 25 to April 29 will bring a stretch of uncomfortable weather to Kyiv and the surrounding region. Fluctuations in atmospheric pressure and brisk winds are expected to exacerbate the chill, although precipitation will be minimal. A light rain is forecasted for today, with more significant rainfall expected on April 26.

The Hydrometeorological Center cautioned that cloud cover will play a crucial role in temperature variations, particularly during the night from Saturday to Sunday. While overcast skies may help prevent frost during the night, they will contribute to a less pleasant Sunday.

Frost conditions are anticipated on the ground during the upcoming nights, with air temperatures potentially dropping below freezing in the Kyiv region on April 27 and 28.

Looking ahead, the cold spell in Ukraine is expected to persist until the end of April. Meteorologist Natalka Didenko has indicated that a significant warming trend is not expected until May, with more comfortable temperatures likely arriving around May 5.

Kyiv is set to experience a significant drop in temperatures starting April 26, accompanied by cold winds and minimal rain. Frost conditions may affect the region during the following nights, with a warming trend anticipated in early May.
