New Fund Launched in Ukraine to Support Families of Military Personnel

A new charitable organization in Ukraine, named “She Protects,” has been established to provide assistance to women awaiting the return of their husbands and sons from the front lines. The fund aims to address the emotional challenges faced by these women, who often live in a state of constant anxiety and uncertainty.

Alena Ivanova, the head of the fund, stated in an interview that the ongoing conflict has created a significant number of women who are effectively holding the home front. These women are responsible for raising children, maintaining jobs, and supporting their loved ones in the military, all while enduring persistent psychological stress.

“Support is needed not only for military personnel but also for those who are holding their own front at home,” Ivanova emphasized.

The fund focuses on providing psychological assistance to the wives, mothers, and children of military personnel, in addition to humanitarian and social support.

“It is crucial for soldiers to know that their families are not left alone,” she added.

Many women are experiencing emotional burnout and uncertainty about the future, which sometimes leads them to consider leaving Ukraine. Ivanova explained, “If a person is leaving out of fear and uncertainty, we must be there to help them find confidence here.”

One of the primary objectives of the fund is to prevent the psychological disintegration of military families and to maintain their sense of stability.

“We work for the preservation of the nation,” Ivanova stated.

The fund organizes psychological consultations, activities for children, and family gatherings for military families, as well as providing support to women in crisis situations and assisting the children of fallen soldiers.

Ivanova also warned that Ukraine will face significant psychological challenges after the war, affecting both military personnel and their families. “After the war, we will encounter a major challenge—how to reintegrate people into normal life and how to avoid losing families that have endured separation for years,” she noted.

The fund believes that supporting the families of military personnel is not only a humanitarian issue but also a matter of the country’s future and the preservation of Ukrainian society.

The newly established "She Protects" fund in Ukraine aims to support women waiting for their military loved ones. The organization focuses on psychological assistance, addressing the emotional challenges faced by families during the ongoing conflict.
