Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky engaged in discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump during the G7 summit held in Evian-les-Bains, France, from June 15 to 17.
Zelensky shared this update on his Telegram channel, posting photographs featuring himself alongside Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Trump.
“It is always important to coordinate positions,”
he captioned the images. The summit’s agenda includes key topics such as peace negotiations to end the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as discussions surrounding Iran, particularly the signing of an agreement with the U.S. and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Zelensky participated in a working session of the G7 on June 16, having arrived that morning to be greeted by French President Emmanuel Macron. Prior to the summit, he had a phone conversation with Trump, during which they arranged to meet in person.
