Ukrainian Regions Experience Power Outages Amid Russian Attacks

As of the morning of May 4, several regions in Ukraine, including Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson, have reported temporary power outages due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure. This information was shared via Telegram by the National Energy Company of Ukraine, Ukrenergo.

In areas where safety conditions permit, emergency restoration work has commenced. Energy workers are making every effort to restore power to affected consumers as quickly as possible.

Current reports indicate a significant decrease in electricity consumption, with usage dropping by 14.7% compared to Friday, May 1. This decline is attributed to rising temperatures across Ukraine, which have reduced the need for heating, alongside favorable weather conditions that have enhanced the efficiency of solar power plants.

The energy company has advised that, given the current weather conditions, active electricity consumption should be concentrated during daylight hours, specifically between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. In contrast, it is recommended to limit the use of high-power electrical appliances during the evening hours, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

The situation within the energy system remains fluid, and the public is encouraged to check local energy provider pages for the most current information regarding power outages.

Ukrainian regions are facing temporary power outages due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, with consumption dropping significantly as temperatures rise. Emergency restoration efforts are underway, and the public is advised on optimal energy usage times.
