Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to arrive in Cyprus on April 23 to participate in a special meeting of European Union leaders. This information was confirmed by the Office of the President of Ukraine.
During his visit, Zelensky is scheduled to hold several meetings, including discussions with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. Additionally, a trilateral meeting is planned with European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
In addition to his address at the meeting, the President may engage in informal discussions, often referred to as pull-aside meetings, according to the Office of the President.
On April 23, a spokesperson for President Costa announced that Zelensky would attend an informal gathering of EU leaders.
Prior to this summit, Zelensky expressed his primary expectations, which include the unlocking of a €90 billion loan for Ukraine, the adoption of a 20th sanctions package against Russia, and the initiation of negotiation clusters related to Ukraine’s EU accession process.
