Ukrainian Military Chief Reports Russian Losses Exceed Reinforcements

The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, has stated that Russian military losses in Ukraine have consistently surpassed reinforcements entering their combat units for several months. This information was conveyed during a recent conversation with General Alexis Greenkewich, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe.

Syrskyi detailed the current situation in combat zones, highlighting the activities of Russian forces in key areas and Ukraine’s successes in neutralizing enemy units and reclaiming territory. He noted that the ongoing conflict has seen a significant imbalance in Russian troop numbers, with losses outpacing new recruits.

In addition to discussing military dynamics, Syrskyi addressed the severe tactics employed by Russian forces against civilian populations, including airstrikes targeting populated areas and critical infrastructure. He emphasized the urgent need for continued international military support for Ukraine, particularly in terms of stable arms supplies, specifically air defense systems and munitions.

The conversation also covered Ukraine’s priority needs under the PURL program, aimed at bolstering its defense capabilities. Syrskyi’s remarks follow previous statements made in February, where he indicated that 2025 marked a pivotal year in the conflict, with Russian military losses exceeding recruitment levels for the first time.

Ukrainian military leadership reports a significant disparity between Russian troop losses and reinforcements, emphasizing the need for ongoing international military support. The discussion also highlighted the severe tactics used against civilians and outlined Ukraine's priority military needs.
