A recent investigation has revealed that Vyacheslav Medyanyk, a member of Ukraine’s ruling party, resides in an undeclared luxury estate near Kyiv valued at approximately $1 million. The property is owned by a woman who previously worked as a nanny for his family.
The estate, covering around 370 square meters, is located in a gated community called “Khutir Yasny” in the village of Khodosivka, just outside Kyiv. Officially, Medyanyk’s family owns a 100-square-meter apartment in the same community, which was registered in 2024 under the name of his minor daughter. This apartment is the only property listed in Medyanyk’s official declarations.
However, investigative journalists noted that a 2024 Porsche Cayenne, owned by Medyanyk’s wife, Inna, was seen leaving the private estate rather than the apartment building. This discrepancy raises questions about the family’s actual living arrangements.
According to property records, the estate was acquired in June 2021 by Nela Kovalenko, a resident of Dnipro. Prior to this purchase, Kovalenko had no documented entrepreneurial activities. Shortly before acquiring the estate, she became a co-founder of a company called “Antar Plus,” which includes Medyanyk among its founders.
In addition, Kovalenko’s contact information in the GetContact database lists her as “Nella, Inna’s nanny,” and “Medyanyk’s nanny Nella,” indicating a close personal connection to the family.
Medyanyk has stated that he lives with his family in the declared apartment and explained the use of the private estate for parking the family vehicle during potential air raids. He described his relationship with Kovalenko as friendly, asserting that she is an independent individual.
He commented, “Asking about her income and other matters would be inappropriate for me. If you look at her work history, she has been employed at major enterprises in Dnipro, including paint manufacturing companies and the district education department, where she dealt with logistical issues.”
Investigators found that Kovalenko indeed held positions at the Dnipro paint factory, the district education department, and the city council’s Department of Humanitarian Policy. However, her reported earnings over the past decade totaled just over 260,000 hryvnias, a sum insufficient to finance a property of this magnitude.
An investigation has uncovered that Ukrainian lawmaker Vyacheslav Medyanyk lives in an undeclared luxury home owned by a former nanny. Despite official declarations listing only a modest apartment, discrepancies in property records and reported earnings raise questions about the family's financial transparency.
