Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has expressed support for a statement made by the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, regarding a proposed travel ban on Russians involved in the conflict against Ukraine. Sybiha urged all EU member states to back this initiative.
During a press conference on April 21, Kallas announced plans to present proposals for restricting entry to former Russian combatants at the upcoming European Council meeting in June.
Sybiha welcomed Kallas’s initiative, stating that it would send a clear message to Russians that signing a contract to fight in the war would also result in a ban on entering Europe.
“This is fair. You wage war to harm Europe and European states — you should not have the ability to travel there,”
he added.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister reiterated his call for all EU nations to support this proposal.
