Ukrainian military forces have successfully struck a temporary deployment site of the 90th Separate Engineering and Sapper Regiment of the Russian 51st Army in the Donetsk region. This operation was carried out by various units, including the 9th Battalion ‘Kairós’ and the 414th Brigade ‘Birds of Madyar.’
The Russian engineering unit was reportedly involved in the fortification and mining of the so-called ‘Surovikin Line’ in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions. Additionally, they had been engaged in engineering and sapper tasks in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka areas, as well as training specialists in engineering and technical operations.
Since the escalation of the conflict following Russia’s full-scale invasion, numerous sites within Russia and in territories occupied by Russian forces in Ukraine have been targeted by airstrikes. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed many of these attacks, stating that Ukrainian defense forces are systematically implementing measures aimed at diminishing the combat capabilities of Russian occupation forces and pressuring Russia to cease its military aggression against Ukraine.
Ukrainian forces have targeted a Russian engineering unit involved in fortifying positions in the Donetsk region. This strike is part of ongoing efforts to weaken Russian military capabilities amid the ongoing conflict.
