Ukrainian Aircraft Detained in Trinidad and Tobago Over Undeclared Explosives

The Trinidad and Tobago authorities have detained a Ukrainian aircraft en route to Libya after undeclared explosives were discovered on board. The incident occurred during a routine inspection while the aircraft was refueling in Trinidad and Tobago.

The aircraft, which had a Ukrainian crew, was stopped by officials from the Trinidad and Tobago Airports Authority. Following the discovery of the explosives, the crew was temporarily detained for questioning by customs, airport police, the Special Aviation Security Division, and U.S. Border Patrol investigators stationed in the country.

After thorough checks, both the aircraft and its crew were released. Authorities concluded that the Ukrainian crew members were not responsible for the undeclared cargo.

Trinidad and Tobago is an island nation located in the southern Caribbean Sea, near the coast of Venezuela. It consists of two main islands, Trinidad and Tobago, along with several smaller islands. English is the official language of the country.
