Ukraine Monitors Infrastructure Developments in Belarus Amid Security Concerns

Ukrainian officials are observing significant logistical and infrastructural developments in Belarus, which could enhance coordination with Russia. Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during an appearance on День.LIVE.

Demchenko noted that the ongoing construction of supply routes and training grounds in Belarus may indicate a strengthening of military capabilities that could be utilized in collaboration with Russia in the future. However, he emphasized that there are currently no Russian military formations in Belarus posing an immediate threat to Ukraine.

Earlier today, Demchenko reported that on May 2, an aerial balloon was detected entering Ukraine from Belarus, which turned out to be a relay for Russian drones.

On the same day, President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted unusual activity along certain sections of the Ukraine-Belarus border, assuring that Ukrainian forces are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond if necessary.

On April 17, President Zelensky expressed concerns that Russia is attempting to draw Belarus into the conflict. He pointed out that road construction towards Ukraine and the establishment of artillery positions are ongoing in the border regions of Belarus.

Ukrainian authorities are closely monitoring infrastructure developments in Belarus that may facilitate Russian military coordination. Recent activities, including the detection of a drone relay system, have raised security concerns along the border.
