Ukraine Avoids Power Outages on April 6, 2023

On April 6, 2023, Ukraine will not experience power outages for residential consumers or restrictions on electricity supply for industrial users, according to a statement from the national energy company, Ukrenergo.

The company advised citizens to utilize high-energy appliances during daylight hours, specifically between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

This announcement comes amid an ongoing state of emergency in the energy sector, which has been in effect since January 14, 2023, following directives from President Volodymyr Zelensky in response to Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

Additionally, on March 14, 2023, President Zelensky signed a decree to implement a National Security and Defense Council decision aimed at enhancing resilience plans for Ukrainian cities and regions, with preparations extending to winter 2027.

Ukraine's energy sector will not face power outages on April 6, 2023, as confirmed by Ukrenergo. The government continues to implement measures to strengthen energy resilience amid ongoing challenges.
