Shooting Incident in Kyiv’s Sviatoshyn District Under Investigation

A shooting incident occurred in the Sviatoshyn district of Kyiv on Mriyi Street, where an unidentified individual fired shots from a Volkswagen Caddy before fleeing the scene. Preliminary reports indicate that there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the gunfire.

According to Julia Hirdvylis, a spokesperson for the National Police, an operational alert has been initiated in the city as law enforcement agencies work to locate the shooter.

This incident follows another alarming occurrence on April 30, when a military personnel reportedly brandished a weapon inside a supermarket, causing distress among shoppers. Authorities apprehended the individual, who was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Additionally, on April 25, police arrested a suspect involved in a shooting incident in Bucha, where the individual, also intoxicated, fired shots indiscriminately.

A shooting in Kyiv's Sviatoshyn district has prompted police action to locate the shooter, with no reported injuries. This follows recent incidents involving armed individuals in public spaces in the city.
