Russian Shelling Disrupts Power Supply in Chernihiv Region

More than 10,000 consumers in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district of Chernihiv Oblast are without electricity following a Russian artillery strike on an energy facility. This incident occurred in a border area known for frequent attacks.

The strike targeted critical energy infrastructure, leading to significant disruptions. According to Chernihivoblenergo, the local energy provider, repair crews will begin emergency restoration efforts as soon as it is safe to do so.

This attack is part of a broader pattern of daily assaults by Russian forces on border communities in the Chernihiv region, utilizing artillery, mortars, and kamikaze drones. The Novhorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities have been particularly affected.

On the evening of April 5, Russian forces launched an attack on the border town of Semenivka using two FPV drones, resulting in damage to a local school building.

A recent Russian attack in Chernihiv Oblast has left over 10,000 residents without power. The ongoing shelling highlights the persistent threat faced by border communities in the region.
