Recent surveys conducted by Russia’s All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM) reveal a continued decline in President Vladimir Putin’s approval ratings, marking the sixth consecutive week of decreasing support.
Between April 6 and April 12, Putin’s approval rating fell to 66.7%, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points from the previous week. Trust in his leadership also waned, dropping by 1.8 percentage points to 72%.
This latest data indicates that Putin’s approval is at its lowest since the onset of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, dipping below the last recorded rating of 64.3% prior to the conflict.
In addition to Putin’s declining popularity, support for the ruling party, United Russia, has also diminished. VTsIOM’s findings suggest that other political parties represented in the State Duma are experiencing a rise in their approval ratings.
