Since the beginning of May 2, Ukrainian defense forces have engaged in 116 combat encounters with Russian military units, according to the latest operational report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, Russian forces conducted 82 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas, including two strikes using multiple rocket launchers. Two assault attempts by Russian troops were also recorded. In the Southern Slobozhansky region, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions five times near the settlements of Starytsia, Lyman, Izbytske, and Okhrimivka.
On the Kostyantynivka front, Russian forces launched 16 assaults on Ukrainian defenders in the vicinity of Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, and towards Zolote Kolodiaz. Ongoing attacks were reported in this area.
Meanwhile, in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces executed 24 attacks, attempting to advance towards the settlements of Bilytske, Nova Shakhovka, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Muravka, and Molodetske.
On April 15, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, noted that the Russian military had intensified its offensive operations with the change in weather, conducting actions along nearly the entire 1,200-kilometer front line. The most active areas in March included Oleksandrivka, Pokrovsk, Kostyantynivka, and Lyman.
Additionally, on April 17, the head of communications for the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps, Volodymyr Polevyi, stated during an interview on Radio Donbas Realities that Russian troops were amassing resources in the southern outskirts of Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region, utilizing residential buildings as natural cover.
The conflict in Eastern Ukraine continues to escalate, with numerous combat encounters reported between Ukrainian and Russian forces. Recent military activities indicate a significant increase in assaults and shelling, particularly in key regions along the front line.
