On May 9, Moscow will host a parade commemorating the 81st anniversary of the end of the Soviet-German War, but this year it will be notable for the absence of military vehicles. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced this decision due to the current operational situation.
According to the statement, participants will include cadets from Suvorov and Nakhimov military schools, along with other military personnel. However, the usual display of military hardware will not take place.
“Due to the current operational situation, this year, the column of military equipment will not participate in the military parade,” the statement read.
The parade will still feature soldiers from the Russian army, showcasing various branches and types of troops engaged in the ongoing special military operation. Additionally, Su-25 attack aircraft will fly over Red Square, painting the sky in the colors of the Russian flag.
Moscow's upcoming Victory Day Parade will mark the end of World War II without the traditional display of military equipment, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defense. The event will still feature military personnel and aerial displays, reflecting the ongoing operational context.
