A light aircraft, the Zlin Z42, crashed in the Moscow region on June 17, resulting in the deaths of both the pilot and a passenger.
This incident was reported by the Russian news agency TASS, citing law enforcement sources. The aircraft reportedly went down during its approach to land at the Vikhrevo airfield in the Sergiyevo-Posadsky municipal district.
“A criminal case has been initiated under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules for traffic and operation of air transport). Among the theories being considered for the crash is pilot error,” the report stated.
According to TASS, one of the deceased was test pilot Pyotr Tutakin. Sources indicate that he was a passenger on the Zlin Z42 at the time of the crash.
Tutakin was born in 1951 in Kharkiv and graduated from the Kharkiv Higher Military Aviation School. He had been a test pilot since 1982, conducting tests on aerial refueling for MiG-31 and Su-33 aircraft, as well as ejection from the MiG-29UB.
