Leadership Changes in Odessa Military Recruitment Centers Following Corruption Allegations

The Ukrainian military has removed the leadership of the Odessa regional and Peresyp territorial recruitment and social support centers from their positions. This decision was made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine following the arrest of personnel by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Odessa.

According to a statement from the press service of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, on April 21, SBU officers apprehended military personnel from the Peresyp recruitment center who were part of notification groups.

An internal investigation has been initiated regarding the arrests, overseen by the Main Military Law Enforcement Administration as directed by military command.

The Ground Forces emphasized that any violations of the law or abuse of authority are intolerable, and law enforcement agencies are being fully supported in their investigation to assess the actions of the military personnel involved.

Reports indicate that the arrested individuals allegedly demanded a bribe of $50,000.

The Ukrainian military has acted against leadership in Odessa recruitment centers following serious allegations of corruption. An internal investigation is underway after SBU arrests revealed attempts to solicit a substantial bribe.
