Kamala Harris Considers Presidential Run for 2028

Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has indicated that she is contemplating a bid for the presidency in the 2028 elections. This remark came during her speech at a National Action Network event in New York City, as reported by Reuters.

Harris, who was the Democratic Party’s candidate for the 2024 presidential election, responded to a direct question from civil rights activist Al Sharpton about her future political ambitions. She stated,

“Maybe, maybe. I am thinking about it,”

suggesting that she is open to the possibility of running again.

She emphasized that her final decision would depend on who she believes would be best suited to serve as president for the American people in 2028.

Background on Kamala Harris

Born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California, Kamala Harris is a prominent American politician and attorney. She graduated from Howard University and earned her law degree from Hastings College of the Law at the University of California.

Harris began her political career as the District Attorney of San Francisco in 2003 and was elected Attorney General of California in 2010, a position she held until 2017. She served as a U.S. Senator from California from 2017 until 2021.

Since January 20, 2021, Harris has served as Vice President of the United States, a role she will hold until January 20, 2025. In 2024, she ran for the presidency after Joe Biden exited the race but lost to Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Notably, Harris is the first woman to hold the office of Vice President in the United States and the first individual of both African American and Asian American descent to occupy this position.

Kamala Harris has expressed interest in potentially running for president in 2028, highlighting her ongoing political ambitions following her previous candidacy in 2024. Her decision will hinge on who she believes can best serve the American public at that time.
