Intense Fighting Continues on Multiple Fronts in Ukraine

As of May 13, 2023, the Ukrainian General Staff reported 187 combat engagements since the start of the day, with significant Russian offensives concentrated in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions.

In the Pokrovsk area, Russian forces launched 24 attacks, attempting to advance in the vicinity of several settlements including Novopavlivka, Vilne, Kucheriv Yar, Bilitske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Udachne, Serhiivka, Novomykolaivka, and Novopidhorodne. Two clashes are ongoing in this region. Meanwhile, in the Huliaipole direction, there were 22 attacks near the settlements of Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Pryvilne, Vozdvizhivska, Zaliznychne, Verkhnya Tersa, Tsvitkove, Staroukrainka, and Charivne, with one engagement still active.

Additionally, Russian troops conducted 16 assaults in the South Slobozhansky direction, targeting Ukrainian positions around the towns of Lyman, Rybalchyne, Okhrimivka, and Starytsia.

The fighting has also been reported in the North Slobozhansky, Kursk, Kupiansk, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Orikhiv, and Dnipro directions.

According to General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as of May 8, Russian military activity has intensified across the front lines, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction, where approximately 106,000 troops have been concentrated.

In a report dated May 10, analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War noted that Russian forces have not made any significant battlefield gains over the past year, while Ukrainian military forces have achieved notable successes.

Intense combat continues in Ukraine, particularly in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole regions, with multiple engagements reported. Despite heavy Russian assaults, analysts indicate that Ukrainian forces are experiencing successes on the battlefield.
